As we are watching rising fascism and horrific attacks on queer and trans folx, Black, Indigenous, and People of Color, immigrants, disabled folx, and women/femmes; we know that it is the essential time for us to gather in community and work collectively to bring about radical change.
Queer Metalsmiths is a community space where we honor, center and uplift 2SLGBTQIA+ jewelers, metalsmiths + makers. Our mission is to be a safe space for queer artists to connect and support each other through visibility within the metalsmithing and craft fields.
Beyond simply surviving, our commitment is that queer creatives get to thrive! We cannot do that alone. We are looking for community members who want to contribute to the work we are doing locally, regionally, nationally, and globally. We are committed to using our platform to advocate for systemic change and social justice through creative liberation.

Expectations for our QMAF:*
Identify on the 2SLGBTQIA+ spectrum.
Be willing to challenge the foundations of capitalism, patriarchy, and white supremacy by building with love and rejecting hierarchical structures.
Be willing to listen to and hold space for opinions and experiences that may be difficult and/or different from your own.
Be willing to experience and develop your own beautiful leadership through contributing to the collective well-being of community.
Be able to commit to attending at least 6 meetings throughout the year. Meetings are held approximately once a month virtually for 60 minutes on Google Meet and/or Zoom (we understand unexpected emergencies come up!)
